Bliss.jpg screens in NY 10/18 - and is streaming worldwide!

Hello and happy fall!

This newsletter is short and sweet - I’ll have more exciting updates to share soon, but wanted to let you know about a few opportunities to see Bliss.jpg.

My short film BLISS.JPG, which I co-directed with Emily Rose Apter, is an experimental short documentary - a 16mm travelogue through the geological and geographical sites that produce our virtual worlds. It premiered in 2023 at Bucharest International Experimental FF and has screened around the world in the last year. Now you can catch it in New York and online worldwide!

Bliss.jpg will have its New York theatrical premiere on October 18th!

Bliss.jpg will be screening at Maysles Documentary Center this upcoming Friday, October 18th at 7pm as part of the Congo in Harlem series.

The film will play alongside two incredible films by the Congolese filmmaker Petna Ndaliko Katondolo.

I couldn’t be happier about this programming - Bliss.jpg explores the extractive processes related to our computers, including precious metal mining in the Congo, and Petna contributed field recordings from the Gecamines cobalt processing plant in Lubumbashi, Congo to the film. Petna’s own work also explores natural resource extraction and immersive soundscapes, and Emily and I are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to screen alongside him.
